Ariel Camacho, 2014: if my God already knows.

It is a praise corrido, the kind written to measure for a man in the business. It opens by calling God as witness, "Si ya lo sabe mi dios" (if my God already knows), and then sketches its subject not by his guns but by his head: "Arregla todas las broncas" (he settles every dispute), "Mediador e inteligente" (a mediator, and smart). He is the one who cools fights down before they grow. Midway it drops a ranch saying, "Si respetas al de atrás" (if you respect the one behind you), and Ariel writes himself into the song: "Jálese mi Ariel Camacho" (come on, my Ariel Camacho).

The farewell is the strongest line and the least warlike: "Las guerras no dejan nada" (wars leave nothing behind). It sounds like 2014 Ariel, twelve string requinto up front, guitar and tuba. It came out on the deluxe edition of "El Karma" (DEL Records, 2014). It was written by Ernesto Armenta Peña.
