Y Por Esa Calle Vive
The street where the one who left still lives, and a mother in law who gets all the blame.
"Y por esa calle vive" is the song that launched Los Barón de Apodaca. It came out on their second album in 1981, made them the most played group on radio and earned their first gold record, presented at a dance at the Expo Guadalupe where they shared the bill with Rigo Tovar. The lyric is minimal: he points at the street where the woman who left him lives, blames the mother in law who talked her out of it, and brags that he no longer begs. What makes it unforgettable is that the one crying the next morning is her.
