Los amigos le dicen que la olvide para siempre, que ya no tome hasta perderse y que acepte que ella no es para él. Pero él sigue preguntándole a las amigas de ella si todavía llora como lloraba con él y si el nuevo la hace feliz; tal vez, concluye, ese se lleva mejor con las mentiras. El perdón del título es irónico: le pide disculpas por no cumplir sus expectativas y no darle todo lo que pedía, y de ahí brinca a festejar su vida nueva con Moët, whisky y unas buenas Tecates.

His friends tell him to forget her for good, to stop drinking himself into oblivion and to accept that she is not for him. But he keeps asking her friends whether she still cries the way she used to with him, and whether the new guy makes her happy; maybe, he decides, that one just gets along better with lies. The apology in the title is ironic: he says sorry for not living up to her expectations and not giving her everything she asked for, then jumps to celebrating his new life with Moët, whiskey and a few good Tecates.
