It wasn't meant to be the single. The album dropped, fans picked this one, and the next day it had a video.
Lo dijo en inglés: It's a song that when I heard it I knew it was going to be a hit.

First-person heartbreak: the narrator checks his phone, finds no messages, realizes the girl changed and drifted away "poco a poco" with no explanation, begs the night for her return, drinks to cope ("tomando no la aguanto"), and performs toughness while falling apart ("intentando contener mi llanto, haciendo como que no duele tanto"). The closing image, the gifted heart left at his house, frames the love as a returned, unwanted gift.

His own words on the project and the Sad Boyz style: - On the Sad Boyz concept, Remezcla (Lucas Villa, Oct 10, 2023): "When I started to pay attention to people's comments on social media, I began to understand that people were taking my music to heart. I remember when I began recording the first [sad boyz] album, it was all about the feelings people in the comments said they felt from listening to my music." - On evolving the sound, Los Angeles Times (via a 2025 concert listing): "We've been forcing ourselves to prove and show the people what we can do and that we can change our music. It doesn't have to be typical." - On the "sad boy" identity and breaking machismo norms, Billboard's Superstar Q&A at SXSW 2026 (YouTube description): discusses becoming the "godfather of the sad kids," revolutionizing regional Mexican music with vulnerability and emotion, breaking traditional machismo stereotypes.
Context: Junior H (Antonio Herrera Perez, born in Guanajuato, raised partly in Utah) built the "Sad Boyz" identity around emotionally raw corridos tumbados/sierreño starting with "$ad Boyz 4 Life" (2021), widely credited as the Sad Boyz movement's creator within corridos tumbados (EFE, Oct 2023). Remezcla (Oct 10, 2023): the phrase came from fans' deep emotional connection to his music. He was 22 at this album's release.
The song reached No. 79 on the Billboard Hot 100, a Junior H hit with no Peso Pluma beside him, and in May 2026 it made it to Mexico's National Palace: on May 11 he sang it at President Claudia Sheinbaum's morning press conference, at the launch of the "México Canta" contest, where he acknowledged that some of his early songs did not send the best message.
