"Cuando pase el temblor" (When the tremor passes) comes from Soda Stereo's 1985 album "Nada personal" and was written by Gustavo Cerati. It sounds like Andean rock: a carnavalito crossed with reggae and new wave, with panpipes played on a synthesizer and a guitar imitating a charango. The lyric is cryptic, a man walking among stones and ruins waiting for a tremor, and every country gave it its own meaning. In Mexico it was heard alongside the September 1985 earthquake, and Cerati himself said he had that disaster in mind. Billboard named it among the masterpieces of Spanish language rock, and it was the song the band played live most often.
