"La Rata Flaca" es despecho sin anestesia: un hombre borracho grita en la calle contra la mujer que lo engañó y la compara con una rata de alcantarilla. La escribió Espinoza Paz, y la grabó La Auténtica de Jerez Patrimonio Zacatecano, banda nacida en Jerez, Zacatecas, en 1993. Fue el tema que dio nombre a su undécima producción, de 2007, y según su biografía estuvo varias semanas en los primeros lugares de radio y televisión, lo que los llevó a La Fiesta de la Radio de La Ke Buena en el Estadio Azteca. En 2009 fue una de las canciones premiadas en los Premios Latinos BMI, donde Espinoza Paz ganó como Compositor Latino del Año. La versión de esta página es la de Viva Music de 2010.
"La Rata Flaca" is heartbreak with no anesthesia: a drunk man yells in the street at the woman who cheated on him and compares her to a sewer rat. Espinoza Paz wrote it, and it was recorded by La Auténtica de Jerez Patrimonio Zacatecano, a banda founded in Jerez, Zacatecas, in 1993. It was the title track of their eleventh release, in 2007, and according to their biography it spent weeks at the top of radio and TV, which put them on La Ke Buena's Fiesta de la Radio at Estadio Azteca. In 2009 it was one of the songs honored at the BMI Latin Awards, where Espinoza Paz won Latin Songwriter of the Year. The version on this page is the 2010 Viva Music release.
