"El Tamalalero" is the cumbia by Oscar Padilla, drummer of Banda Mister Juniors in the nineties, that became the Sinaloa coast's favorite tongue-twister: a tamale vendor who walks into restaurants and cantinas and, instead of shouting "tamales", sings his entire inventory straight through, from Halls and Clorets to Telcel phone cards, Ferrero Rocher chocolates, Marlboro cigarettes and América and Chivas marshmallow treats, closing with coastal shrimp tamales. It came out in 2009 on La Sierra Records and became a karaoke dare: nobody gets through the whole list without tripping.
