"El Botecito" is a double-entendre cumbia about moving the hips, the "little can" that rusts if it does not move and that the worms will eat if it is not enjoyed in time. Los Hijos del Pueblo recorded it in 2009 for Musart-Balboa and it is their most streamed song, but the tune has an unlikely past: it is "Reginella campagnola", a 1938 Italian song by Eldo Di Lazzaro, which in 1940 was a US hit as "The Woodpecker Song" sung by Glenn Miller and the Andrews Sisters. That same year an RCA Victor ledger in New York already listed a Spanish version called El botecito. Eighty years on it still plays at weddings and sonidero dances.
