"No me platiques más" was Vicente Garrido's first hit, in the mid fifties; Garrido came to be called the father of the modern bolero. Luis Miguel made it the opener of "Romance" (1991): it is the album's first track, ahead of "Inolvidable" and "No sé tú". The lyric is an unusual fit of jealousy, because it is jealousy of no one in the room: he wants to hear nothing about the life she had before they met, and would rather imagine they were both born the day they met.
