"Bidi bidi bom bom" is the second single from "Amor prohibido" (1994), Selena's fourth album. She wrote it herself with Pete Astudillo, her backup singer and dancer; the idea began as a cheerful fish swimming in the sea and ended up as the heartbeat of someone in love. It is a cumbia pop song with reggae touches that spent four straight weeks at number one on Billboard. Today it is one of her signature songs.
