"Mi talismán" (My talisman) is the opening song of "Mi México", the 1991 album where Ana Gabriel set pop aside to sing ranchera and regional music. It is the plea of someone who thought forgetting would be easy and found it wasn't: the person who left was her light, her lucky charm, even her therapist's couch in the worst moments, and the chorus only asks them to come back and calm the anxiety. The album reached number one on Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart, and in 2012 Sony Music put it on its list of 100 albums to own before the end of the world.
