A prison party told like neighborhood gossip. The inmates' band starts playing rock and roll and the whole jail comes alive: el Gato blows the sax, Germán hits the trombone hard, and number 47 tells number 23 to get up and dance. One sourpuss goes off to cry in the corner, and the warden himself sets him straight: the jailhouse rock is for having fun. The punchline is the song's best joke: the fat guy sees nobody's watching and he could slip out, but he stays, because he doesn't want to stop dancing.

José de Jesús Hinojosa, artistic director at Columbia México, gave them their first recording: a 78 rpm single with La Plaga and El Rock de la Cárcel, their Spanish versions of Little Richard's Good Golly, Miss Molly and Jailhouse Rock, the Elvis song written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Those songs made them pioneers of rock and roll sung in Spanish.
