"Hasta ayer" was written by Manny Delgado and first recorded by Venezuelan band Los Terrícolas in 1979. Marc Anthony turned it into salsa on "Todo a su tiempo" (RMM, May 30, 1995), his second salsa album, produced by Sergio George. It became one of his biggest hits, and the video was filmed in Mexico City. It is a polite complaint from a man to the elegant lady who left him for another lover.
