"Ya No" closes the original edition of "Amor Prohibido" (1994), Selena's fourth studio album on EMI Latin. Her brother A.B. Quintanilla III wrote it, and the day before the album sessions he asked Chris Pérez, the band's guitarist and Selena's husband, to build it with Ricky Vela: they spent the night programming the drums and adding electric guitar riffs. The lyric is a slammed door: she knows about the cheating, she sends back the gifts and she will not take him back.
