"Ex de verdad" salió el 25 de mayo de 2015 como el tercer sencillo de Primera fila: Hecho realidad, el primer disco en vivo de Ha*Ash, publicado en noviembre de 2014 y grabado en los Estudios Churubusco de la Ciudad de México. La escribieron las hermanas Ashley Grace y Hanna Nicole con la cantante española Beatriz Luengo. La idea nació en una cena en Miami: Joy Huerta, de Jesse & Joy, mejor amiga de las hermanas, se encontró a su ex, que la trató tan bien que la hizo dudar, y se quejó de no tener un ex "de verdad", de los que no saludan y se olvidan fácil. Llegó al número uno de Monitor Latino en México y AMPROFON la certificó triple platino más oro.
"Ex de verdad" came out on May 25, 2015, as the third single from Primera fila: Hecho realidad, Ha*Ash's first live album, released in November 2014 and recorded at Estudios Churubusco in Mexico City. The sisters Ashley Grace and Hanna Nicole wrote it with Spanish singer Beatriz Luengo. The idea came from a dinner in Miami: Joy Huerta of Jesse & Joy, the sisters' best friend, ran into her ex, who treated her so well he made her doubt herself, and she complained that she did not have a "real" ex, the kind who does not say hello and is easy to forget. It reached number one on Monitor Latino in Mexico and AMPROFON certified it triple platinum plus gold.
