It starts at the border crossing: a voice in English welcomes you to the United States and asks, "Are you coming from Mexico?" The answer is the whole song: yes, sir, he is from the ranch, boots and horseback, born and raised in the hills. It is the ranch pride anthem of Alfredo Ríos, El Komander, included on his 2014 album Cazador.

He has told how it came about. He was already doing well and had toured all over the United States when he wrote it: half came at his ranch in Culiacán, Sinaloa, and the other half in the studio, when he had an album to finish. He wrote it with his grandfather in mind, "that would definitely be my grandfather's vibe." He never imagined it would be his biggest song: he knew it was good, like many others, "but that was it."
