"Ángel" was the third single from "Belinda" (2003), the debut album that took the singer, born in Madrid and raised in Mexico City, from telenovelas into pop. On Spotify it carries its English subtitle, "Once in Your Lifetime". It spent six weeks at number one in Mexico and reached the top 5 across much of Latin America. The lyric is a quiet love: a loyal friend who knows "it is not going to happen" and still lets herself dream it, with the angel as the image of someone who protects you and cannot be had.
